Tam Discovered Inventory Wasn’t Optional…

By L J January 7, 2008 1 Comment

Your Name: Tam

Date Joined MK: April, 2007

Highest Level Achieved: Star Consultant

When Left MK or Are You Still Active: Still Active

Initial Inventory Purchased:$600

How were you recruited?
Attended a class my cousin had for a relative of my husband’s

What about Mary Kay appealed to you most?
1/2 price & meeting new people

Tell us about one of your most memorable or embarassing situations while in Mary Kay
I have enjoyed meeting new people & have attended all meetings – however, I was not told about “dress code” until after signed in, & have yet to wear a skirt to a meeting!

What did you learn from your Mary Kay experience?
If your not a “sales type” – I’m not, it doesn’t work very well.

Also, if you have to drive 20 miles (we live in a rural area – everything is at least 15 – 20 miles) to deliver a $ 10 eyeliner, the “$ 5” you “make” you spend in gas!

What are you doing now? Working full or part time? Working from hom? etc.
Still working my “JOB” as before and still active consultant for now

Additional Comments:
Inventory was NOT discussed with me until after I had joined and was not presented as an option. You HAD to purchase inventory – at least $ 600. I felt that was very deceptive and for that reason, I have NEVER offered the ‘OPPORTUNITY’ – I have a lady who wants to “join” but she is saving to get her $100 I will discuss personal use or INVENTORY with her BEFORE – I don’t want to do to others what was done to me.

So true!  I talk with my recruits about their inventory because of the same reason.  I had never been in sales and listen to all the directors say hot hot hot will fly off your sales and I came with $4800 then new colors just came out 1900 more then 120o.  Wow, I look back and so so wrong and nieve.  I know better now and will never let that happen to anyone under me!
