For Those Who Prefer Music While Making Up

Check out this beautiful beauty set:

World Domination Tour All Access Backstage Beauty Collection

Ultimate beauty workshop

It’s housed in a musical jewelry adorned with a sleek blond doll and plays “La Vie en Rose.”

Limited Edition — $42.00

Another great alternative to MK. I think any teen on your list would rather have this than a lame Velocity set or an $18 double-ended lip gloss!

Want to Give Some REALLY Neat Beauty Gifts This Xmas? Hint: They AREN’T Mary Kay!

Written by L J on November 6, 2008 – 8:02 pm -

I always laughed at the holiday gift suggestions put out every year by Mary Kay.

They really tried, but let’s face it…all they did was pair some of their regular products together and call it a gift set. Sure, there were limited-edition products, but they just never seemed like that much fun. And innovative? Please!

So this year, I thought I’d throw out some suggestions for some really fun beauty gifts that I think any gal would be happy to receive.

How Much Does the Typical Mary Kay Customer Order in a Year?

Written by L J on October 24, 2008 – 2:10 pm -

When I was in Mary Kay, I often heard directors state the fact that the average woman spends $500 a year on cosmetics.

Notice they didn’t say that the average woman was buying MK products exclusively, but those that wanted to hear that heard it, and directors didn’t try to discourage consultants from planting that $500 figure in their head as what their average customer would spend in a year.

Written by L J on October 17, 2008 – 5:01 pm -

I received this message from Wayne, an obviously caring father:

I’ve always been told MK products are the best. I’d like someone to answer if I should be paying$300 to give my teen girls ‘the best’?

So help the man out.

What do you think:  Are Mary Kay products the best? Why or why not?

Worried About the Economy? “Forget About It!!” Say MK Directors

Written by L J on October 4, 2008 – 9:27 am -

Here’s some typical motivational hyperbole from Mary Kay directors.

Below is an email that one of our members received from her MK director:

This morning on our Director’s Conf Call our National, Cheryl Warfield said something profound.

She was talking about the news and how it is all about banks failing, billions of dollars lost, recession….you know what I’m talking about….all of that scary, financial stuff.
