“Anonymous” Is Glad She Didn’t Join MK

Your Name: Anonymous

Date Joined MK : Never

When Left MK or Still Active?:
Never Joined

Initial Inventory Purchased:
0

How were you recruited?:

I was invited to a MK party which was hosted by a friend I had fallen out of contact with. I don’t wear much makeup, but purchased some bronzer & eyeshadow to be supportive. She invited me to hang out and I was really excited to catch up and rekindle an old friendship…but guess what? All she wanted to talk about was MK. I gave her reason after reason that I didn’t want to join, but, even when we’d wander into non-MK conversation, she’d randomly ask me to repeat my reasons for not joining. For the next couple weeks, she kept inviting me to her weekly meeting to be a “model”. I had done my research, so I finally gave her a very firm NO and pointed her in the direction of this site and PinkTruth. She gave me a lot of excuses, then stopped talking to me. So much for wanting to be my friend :(

You Want Pink Cosmetics Leaves Consultant with No Product & NSF Check!

Written by L J on September 18, 2008 – 3:12 pm -

Warning: You may want to think twice before using Mary Kay reseller You Want Pink Cosmetics.

I received this note from a former consultant who sold her excess inventory to them. Here is what she wrote:

I got a quote from them to liquidate some small inventory a couple of months ago… After sending them the products in good faith, they drastically reduced my quote, and held onto my products for a month with no contact. They finally, contacted me, said they had been “busy”, and sent me a check for the reduced amount (I didn’t get back the products they “rejected”).

With or Without Inventory, Filling Mary Kay Orders is Tricky

Written by L J on September 16, 2008 – 9:25 am -

Mary and Jane are two women who caught the Mary Kay fever and decided to become consultants. (While Mary and Jane are fictictious, their experiences are based on those of hundreds of other women.)

Mary doesn’t want to start her Mary Kay “business” with that “empty wagon” Mary Kay Ash mentioned, so she orders $2400 (wholesale) of inventory. Now she’s set and ready to start selling.

She holds her first “class” and is happy to have a few orders. But as she proceeds to fill those orders, Mary is suddenly dismayed. Two of her customers ordered several of the same lipsticks (or eye shadow, eyeliner, blush, moisturizer…) and Mary only has enough of those shades to fill part of the order. Now what?
