working so hard and my director benefiting and I get nothing for it.

What did you learn from MK?:
Lot of nepotism wtihin my unit. I was not a personal friend fo the director.

What are you doing now? :
Still at my current job and liquidating all my section 2 product now.

Additional Comments:
Very manipulative company and would cut your heart out., A director who is afraid to recruit and gets upset when her friends are upset and the heck with the rest of the unit.

How were you recruited?:

I was invited to a MK party which was hosted by a friend I had fallen out of contact with. I don’t wear much makeup, but purchased some bronzer & eyeshadow to be supportive. She invited me to hang out and I was really excited to catch up and rekindle an old friendship…but guess what? All she wanted to talk about was MK. I gave her reason after reason that I didn’t want to join, but, even when we’d wander into non-MK conversation, she’d randomly ask me to repeat my reasons for not joining. For the next couple weeks, she kept inviting me to her weekly meeting to be a “model”. I had done my research, so I finally gave her a very firm NO and pointed her in the direction of this site and PinkTruth. She gave me a lot of excuses, then stopped talking to me. So much for wanting to be my friend :(

Memorable experience you had in MK:
Not joining!

What did you learn from MK?:
That Mary Kay does not value friendships or critical thinking.

What are you doing now? :
Working a great job in my field! It will never make me rich, but it pays the bills, makes me happy, and leaves my evenings and weekends free.

Additional Comments:
Thank you so much for this website. I never would have joined MK anyway, but I’ve been able to steer other people this way and hopefully keep them away from the company.
