Oops! Another NSD Being Honest...Here are the "TOP TIPS" from a well-known NSD for getting to Director level in one month. In order to become a director, you must build a pyramid beneath you of 30 people, and your "unit's" orders from the company must total at least $16,000 over a four-month period. In this scenario, you are recruiting your 22 team members (assuming you started with 8) and frontloading $16,000 worth of inventory on them. That's an average of over $700 worth of product for each recruit. Which means some will order more and some less, but regardless, this is the only way to make Director in one month. Here's a couple of reasons why these "tips" are sleazy: 1. "Pull inventory as soon as they sign" - This is blatant instruction to frontload inventory. We all know that a DIQ can't get her production finished in a month from just selling the product - there's simply no time for selling, because you must recruit like crazy. 2. "Always talk to people who believe in you; Go up to your director, national, etc" - This is just so that your director can keep you blinded to the reality of your situation. Anyone outside of Mary Kay will bring you down, because they might question the ethics of your activities. 3. "If you get discouraged, focus on your Big Girl dreams, the diamonds, the Cadillac, the director suit, etc" - This just means: "Focus all your thoughts on the materialistic crap you want; don't let anyone tear you away from your greedy desires" 4. And my favorite, she throws in a little one-liner about praying to God at the end: "Pray that God will bring you people who need this opportunity". This is the GREEDIEST thing I've ever seen. Basically you must force other people to buy $16,000 worth of crap so that YOU can dream about having diamonds and Cadillacs, and if it crosses your mind to pray - make sure you ask God for more recruits. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sick. Comments**After reading this mess and the 'other' mess** I need another shower! Feel so dirty now. UGH!!! Seriously though, just HOW MATERIALISTIC can one get??? Man , All this time I have be rubbing Buddah's belly when I should just pray to God for money! Damn, praying to the wrong God again! I am just shocked that this is called a Christian company. "If all else fails bring up God again, no Godly woman would take advantage of another person." That’s what those dolts count on. You being so blinded by their Godliness that no one questions them for fear of being Un -Christian. I am so surprised there aren’t lightning bolts sticking out their @sses!
Madame, your stunning insight into the minds of ghouls leaves me breathless.
Thou art a queen among women. Hey I didnt just stumble on this title ya know!LOL ok, so I should be blaming GOD for not bringing me these people?? What a relief!! I thought I was a lazy whining bashing lying quitter. Good to know it's all God’s fault! And WTH is this - "No TV or radios - only listen to CDs/music"!??!?! No wonder they don't have a clue... This stuff makes me nuts. oops - "positive CDs/music" "positive c.d.'s" means: the ones sold by your NSD. "And WTH is this - "No TV or radios - only listen to CDs/music"!??!?! No wonder they don't have a clue..."
"No TV or radio-only listen to positive c.d.’s/music" Yes, because God forbid you actually know what's going on in the world. Turn a blind eye to the hunger and war in the rest of the world and keep focused on those diamonds and cadillacs!!!!111!111! Does anyone else enjoy the part where she says [regarding inventory]: "Have your director do this until you are comfortable". What does that mean? Hmmmm... Could it be that you have to get "comfortable" with manipulating and being extremely diry/pushy in order to get the biggest inventory order? I remember hearing and being preached to about not watching television, spending time on the computer, or listening to the radio. If I would mention to an upline in MK that I was watching a certain show, I would hear about it. "You should not be wasting your time on such things". It's my time; I'll do with it what I want, thank you very much. Everything had to be focused only around MK. I remember at Seattle Sizzle, I think, there was a director saying she doesn't do ANYTHING that doesn't help her business. And I'm sitting there thinking, "You know, sometimes I just like watching TV and cross-stitching. So what if it isn't 'helping' my business, but you have to take some me-time once in a while!" Could this be a reason that some directors and consultants neglect their families? Because spending time with their families doesn't help their business? Ahhh yes, I just love Dacia... she's the new MK dragonlady; a title I once gave to Pam Shaw (who is just "in your face" about success in MK). I love the way she tells it like it is with no shame whatsoever. I have been kind of watching Dacia's "one month wonders", and her two most popular aren't doing so well. One has had an offspring Director fall off already. Also, they are becoming very "desperate" for cadillac-style monthly production numbers by offering little vacations and the like. Personally, I know the pro-pink ladies will think what Dacia is doing is very successful and they consider it "powerful business building", etc. but the more they promote this "one month wonder" stuff the more anti-MK people they are going to create. Bad for the recruits but, in the end, good for us. Shabby And I'm sitting there thinking, "You know, sometimes I just like watching TV and cross-stitching. So what if it isn't 'helping' my business, but you have to take some me-time once in a while!" Excellent point. I could NOT have a hobby while I was "working" my MK business (which I didn't for long). I seriously doubt many of the "working" MK consultants can honestly say they are active in any kind of hobby or group that isn't participated in for the purpose of recruiting or "warm chatter". I love the fact that I can spend my day gardening, crocheting, sewing with my daughters and making homemade bread (which I love to do)... no, I don't drive a Cadillac or wear big, low-grade diamond rings but I love my life! :) Shabby Frontloading consultants who are too new to know what is going on is despicable! Another thing that always bothered me about the Pinkos is their constant, tsunami-sized push towards materialistic goods and hyper consumption. Always talking about cadillacs, prizes, trips, diamond rings, shoe money, etc. Like any of us really need more cheaply made junk to clutter up our homes. And that jewelry is EL CHEAPO, too. I had a bracelet that busted after I had only owned it a month! So much for my prize for a huge MK order. My husband said at the time: "Is that all $3,000 buys you?" "I remember hearing and being preached to about not watching television, spending time on the computer, or listening to the radio." Cult grooming 101: Isolate person from rest of the world. And I know I would tell my upline where to shove it if I mentioned a TV program and she admonished me not to be watching that. Technical question: what is the term "pull inventory" -- as in "Pull inventory as soon as they sign". Does it mean pull as much out of the new victim as you can? This seems like so much cheerleading for an assault on the unwitting public. I've got an idea for one more for the list: 5. When thinking of who you'd like to recruit, think of your acquaintances that have overbearing mothers. That way, they're used to being dominated and ordered around by someone above them. Whew! So much is disturbing about this document. First - Interview Everyone, Pull inventory as soon as possible, have a sense of urgency This just points to the fact that many play the numbers game recruiting everything in a skirt with credit. So much for this being a personal one on one business. What this is saying is be desperate enough to recruit anyone who'll listen and then go for the inventory jugular. Yes get those big orders now! "Think about those big paychecks, the suit the Cadillac the diamonds" How "crappy" is that and insincere. So much for the go give spirit. Just more proof that this business is about greed, and stepping over others to further oneself. "Pray that God will lead you to women that need this opportunity" For what - so you can pressure them with your sense of urgency to purchase that inventory??? - Another misuse of God. For a business that is supposed to be about enriching others, there sure is a lot of self-promoting going on. *shaking head* BIG GIRL DREAMS????? These ladies should be concerned about financing their IRA accounts, social security will be gone by the time they retire. A pink "Barbie dream" car is nice, but not going to pay the bills. "My husband said at the time: 'Is that all $3,000 buys you?'" Ouch. But that's exactly the truth of the situation. It was always preached in our area, "If it doesn't make you money and doesn't further your business, then you shouldn't be doing it". I heard this over, and over, and over again. My last seminar I attended, my bladder disease was so bad that I had to stay in my room most of the trip. I was in the bathroom every few minutes and couldn't walk because of the pain and pressure. When my unit members came back and saw me watching TV, they about had a fit! "Why are you wasting your time watching TV?" I couldn't believe it! I was in total agony and couldn't do anything except lay there and constantly make trips to the bathroom, and pop pain pills. It did not go over well with me at all and I just didn't care what they thought really.
You're gonna LOVE the MK Ash quotes I found for tomorrow. *happy sighing* Sandy included this in her post about what she was told: "If it doesn't make you money and doesn't further your business, then you shouldn't be doing it". Well, you know what? If that is true than I wasted my whole day today. I didn't have any client meetings and no pressing deadlines so I took the day off. I spent 1/2 day with my husband buying stones to build a retaining wall/flower bed in our backyard. We went out to lunch and had fun. Then once our son got out of school, we took him to a circus that is in town and spent the rest of the day with him. According to the Mk standard, everything I did today was a waste of time. Watching my son's face light up as he rode an elephant and a camel for the first time and watching how big his eyes got at some of the acts in the show was the RICHEST experience I could imagine. Spending my day enjoying my family was PRICELESS. "If it doesn't make you money and doesn't further your business, then you shouldn't be doing it". That's MaryKaySpeak for "Why the hell weren't you out making money for me!!" So true, Kylaboo! Mary Kay would never tell you to not take time off or to not spend time with your family. She just wanted us to plan our time so that we do not waste one precious moment. "If it doesn't make you money and doesn't further your business, then you shouldn't be doing it". How sad. I feel sorry for work-a-holics who never get to experience real life. Posted by: Nellie | May 05, 2006 at 02:45 PM
