Daniele was recruited four times

By L J January 21, 2015 18 Comments

Name: Daniele
Are You Active or Inactive? inactive
If Inactive, Date You Left MK: November 2013
Amount of Initial Inventory You Purchased:
How were you recruited? Tell us all the details.
I was recruited in 1995, 2004 and 2006, with promises galore! When I finally purchased the starter kit, I got no help from my director. Apparently I was “quota for the car”. I didn’t even sell anything. In 2009, I was recruited again with promises of fast money, etc. I rolled my eyes at everything she said. In 2013, I did the second chance program, after ” the sharp woman, smart woman” comment. (Tell me something I don’t know.) and after reading a website like this against MK, I wanted to see if MK was as bad as people said it was. I went to a meeting, no makeup, sans business attire, and they looked at me like I was a freak. I realized I couldn’t be myself with them, so I never went back. Every time they opened their mouths, I let it go in one ear and out the other. They are full of everything but the truth, and they know it. “I’ve been driving for free for four yea rs.” “I had someone sign up and she ordered $2500 in inventory right away. I listened to what they had to say for entertainment, because that’s all it is. Pure entertainment. Do they really expect us to believe that MK sells, when majority of women don’t care fir the products for various reasons?

Do you have a memorable experience from your time in Mary Kay? If so, please tell us about it.
I went to a “skin care class” and when the director hosting asked us various questions, I answered all of them with sarcasm. I think I pissed her off, considering the dirty looks she gave me. I grew up around makeup, and I learned by trial and error, not from MK.

What are you doing now?
I’m selling Pink Papaya, and people actually like it. I like it, and I laugh when I see pink caddies.

Hi I am a consultant and I love it. Sounds like you were in a toxic environment. This business is awesome, and no it is not for everyone. I don’t think you got the information you needed. You may have been a car recruit but you didn’t actually help get it because you didn’t order. Now I love my business but I see there are things I am not going to do because I am not going to do the work. DO people come I and order big amounts of inventory ABSOLUTELY. Did I? NO. But I do WORK my business and my needs and wants are met. Its fine to say YOU had a unsatisfying experience, but to bash MK when the women are doing it is in fact wrong. When I clearly read you didn’t o anything. There is also a dress policy that I see wasn’t followed the response you received is the same one you would have gotten anywhere. Can’t blame the women, and its hard to work when you are obviously being messed with. The director was doing her job at the party. This site is amusing and I love it! All this negativity comes from personal choices that have nothing to do with the company, but the effort that was placed into the business. They should have told you to read your consultant handbook and stated the info to you as well.

looks like somebody drank the pink koolaid ๐Ÿ™‚ You sound exactly like everybody else who condemns others for speaking out against this literal pyramid scheme. But oh tell me… why are you here then? Why come to this site if it is indeed so “negative” if not to bash other women who are free from the pink poison? Hmm?

I completely understand…I feel stuck in Mary Kay and I hate Selling it. I’d rather just be a customer

    1. I like wearing other products (that MK do not have) and other brands
    2. I really “HATE” the Happy Face that I have to put on every week in order to be liked
    3. I feel obligated to order bc my director makes me feel guilty and says we are going to lose our team “this month”, but she says it every single month like clock work.

No one can make you feel guilty unless you allow them too. You always have choice in everything you do or say. If you don’t want to do something say No!!! If she loses her team it’s because of her not doing the work that she needs to do to keep moving forward. Stop Protecting(enabling) her to stay stuck. . t’s important for you to take responsibility for yourself and stop blaming others. Be the the Victor instead of victim.

I am currently a Mary Kay consultant, and I am highly thinking of dropping it. My director is also my national. She doesn’t know I exist until she needs to meet a certain quota. My recruiter is my mom, and she is also under the same director/national, but sees no problem with her probably because our director acknowledges her, even though she’s barely doing anything. I love the product, but I am considering dropping it and maybe doing Avon, but I keep getting talked out of it. When I told my director/national that I’m dropping it, she said “No, you can’t!” What do I do?

You can call the company directly and ask for the form to return your stuff! From what I’ve read, you don’t have to involve your director at all

When any of you all signed up for the starter kit for MK $100…did your SD ask for your SSN during that time? Oh and she also said when the bill comes in it will say $125…I’m assuming now she snuck in the basic Web page fee or is that shipping & handling?

I ask b/c my SD asked for my SSN and didn’t say why, I know it sounds really negligent on my part (which it is, bc I am super cautious about everrrry) and for me to be asking now once it’s been ordered. I feel like I Signed my life away! My SD is a close friend, well thought so anyway. Obviously verrrry manipulative as you can see. I was actually driving w childrens and pulled up trying to get groceries outta car w all the noise and trying to get everyone outta the car…she wouldn’t even be polite & let me off the phone. I even asked! We were almost done with conversation and I didn’t think she would be that type of person to harm my credit using my SSN to gain personal capital.

Anyway, obviously my fault for not fully paying attention at the time. The starter kit arrived about one week ago. So how can I back track and make this !! I don’t want to deal with her!!

Plus majority of information of MK I was taught/told about was a lie! The incentives and financial portion was completely false. Thank you for whoever developed this site ๐Ÿ˜‰ Please help and no I don’t need to know it was a bad descion on giving out the number or lack of research. This was supposed to be a fun side job. Now I’m want my name cleared and contact whoever I need to in order to return items ๐Ÿ™‚

The ONLY time you ever give your SSN to Mary Kay, not an individual, is when you are completing an agreement online. I guess if you did a paper copy, your recruiter could see it. However, I haven’t used a paper agreement in years! The only reason they need it is to make sure you are legally able to join in the U.S. and to report any commissions or prizes earned (over a certain amount) to Uncle Sam. The only way your credit would be effected is if you over-ordered inventory and chose not to sell it. If it is within one year of signing your agreement, MK will allow you to return it and give you 90% back. The only reason it’s not 100% is that they destroy all returned product. They are taking a big loss because they have integrity and wouldn’t send us products that someone else might have left in the cold and heat or let someone try. All you have to do is contact the company.

That is not true. They do not destroy the product. My son worked in the factory, MK does not have integrity.
