How were you recruited? Tell us all the details.
So, I’m a waitress, and two Mary Kay ladies sat in my section one day, and told me they sold Mary Kay and they were celebrating Working Women. So I filled out the card, and, of course, (BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER) checked that yes, I would be interested in selling Mary Kay. About a month later, she called me saying I had won, and came over to give me my make over party and got me and my best friend to agree to sell Mary Kay. At this party, she said there would be a second appointment for makeup, and that I had won a $20 gift certificate. My best friend also won an eye shadow. We never received any of that.

So, I had my debut party, where she ran the whole show, didn’t teach me anything, and focused 98% of the time on SELLING Mary Kay, and 2% of the time on the actual products. To this day I know NOTHING about what I’ve been trying to sell.

So, of course, she got me all excited, and got me to purchase $1,800 of inventory to place in my small one bedroom apartment (I was 19 at the time). And of course, I let her pick the inventory, and it was mostly foundations and brushes for foundation, and timewise moisturizer and cleanser, but no timewise sets…

THEN, I was told I won a Coach Purse. This was when I was thinking Mary Kay would really be worth it. BUT, I NEVER EVER EVER EVER received this Coach Purse. When finally told that she couldn’t get it, she told me she would take me out to dinner anywhere I wanted and give me a replacement prize. And guess what? That NEVER happened either.

Then, my sales director STEPPED DOWN, and today she doesn’t even SELL Mary Kay.

I’m on the phone trying to send back my inventory right now…

What are you doing now?
