I always thought about selling MK or Avon, but it wasnt until I was able to talk to someone about actually signing up, that I put a lot of thought into it. I told a consultant that I was interested in selling MK and she put me in touch with her SD within the day so we could talk. The SD told me to come to a party and get a facial and see how it all went about. Well, it really wasn’t a party, it was more of a directors meeting and she just happened to give me a facial and do my make up for me. I thought that it was a great idea to sign up so I signed the beauty agreement, but I wouldn’t have the money for close to a week. The SD that invited me was my ride, so as she was giving me a ride home, the whole was she was asking who I could borrow the money from, even though I explained to her multiple times that no one in my family would be able to help me out. That kind of got my wheel turning even though I had already signed the contract, but never gave any money over.
Do you have a memorable experience from your time in Mary Kay? If so, please tell us about it.
I really did liked getting pampered with the facial and such. That was probably the best part of the experience.
What are you doing now?
Waiting for my baby girl to be born in the next couple months.

If someone could answer this question in the comments, that would be wonderful.
Am I still on the hook with MK, even though I signed the contract but I never gave them the initial $100 or so for the starter kit? Can I just call up the director and tell her I am no longer interested or what? Also, if she tries to say that I have to go through with it and I don’t have too, how can I tell her I really know what is going on and I will not be bullied into paying her the money?
Thank you!

Ariel, if you didn’t give them money with the consultant agreement, then there is not agreement as far as I know. My concern would be that the Director may have paid the $100.00 for you without your knowing it.
Don’t be afraid. Call the director, tell her you are no longer interested and will not be signing up. Then call the company and tell them the same thing.
If a starter kit should happen to show up at your door, do NOT accept it. Refuse delivery.

Agreed. You shouldn’t be pressured into doing something if you don’t want to or if you aren’t ready. Don’t give them any money. Even if the director paid the $100 for you, if you don’t sell anything, you will be considered inactive and they cant do anything about it.
