How were you recruited? Tell us all the details.
I went to a skin care class and was recruited by the consultant and now my Director. I love the product. I have used it for many years and like having the personal discount. I am dedicated to my business and have built a very nice customer base. I watch my expenses and have learned a great deal about managing finances, tax benefits and setting goals. It is what you make of it. Consistency is the way to make money. I have learned to have fun at my parties and I truly enjoy making women feel better about themselves. I consistently hold 1-2 parties a week, mostly booking from other parties. That’s the key- The women who have poor experiences probably did not care enough to learn how to hold a fun class. If you are consistent you never have to order more product then you sell. If you have too much inventory hold more classes. Nothing comes to you for free. If you want your life to be the same forever but think you are going to change it by doing the same thing, buy lottery tickets you might get lucky.
Do you have a memorable experience from your time in Mary Kay? If so, please tell us about it.
Yes- going to Seminar. I saw that women can be from every kind of background, financial status, size, shape, color, attractiveness everything and be very successful. They had obstacles that would bring most people to their knees. They just believed and worked at that success. That’s the difference in any success story-effort and belief.
What are you doing now?
I am a Regional Manager for a company, I have 2 young children, I am my daughter’s Girl Scout leader, I volunteer at their school, I have date night every week with my husband and I am a DIQ in Mary Kay. I travel every week and work my Mary Kay business. It gives me satisfaction to watch it grow, to help women believe there is something better, and help them achieve it within their abilities-IF they want it-you can’t fix lazy.
