Mary Kay Inc. finds itself on the other end of a lawsuit, this time listed as a defendant is a case filed on February 10, 2009.
Mary Kay Inc. is being sued by former employee Sandra Garza, who was fired by Mary Kay in September 2008. The lawsuit also names Tammy Gray, a Mary Kay manager, as codefendant.
The suit seeks a “declaratory judgment, injunctive relief, damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, and other relief to secure the rights of
Garza.”
It’s an interesting case, with Garza claiming national origin and race discrimination as well as age discrimination and retaliation.

So much for enriching women’s lives, eh? Sandra I hope you get rich off your suit with MK. Good luck!!!
Normally and unfortunately I usually pass suits like this off as trying to just get money and having no legitimate grounds. But when you read through this it seems so BLATANT. I thought the part about saying she “had no supervisory experience” and yet PROVIDED them with her previous reviews citing her impeccable SUPERVISORY skills was the clincher for me…. I hope she DRAINS them!
About time they have to learn to play by THEIR rules! You GO Girl!
They are toast, legally speaking. Couldn’t happen to a nicer company.
I hope Sandra wins this case. It’s a real shame that this is clearly not “THE MARY KAY WAY”!
MARY KAY IS A PLACE WHERE WOMEN DO NOT ENRICH WOMENS LIVES…..UPPER MANAGEMENT THAT’S BEEN THERE LESS THAN THE REGULAR EMPLOYEES ARE JEALOUS OF THEIR EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE..SANDRA GARZA SHOULD WIN THIS CASE AND TAMMY GRAY SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR OTHER EMPLOYMENT.
XOXOXOXO
