OMG! I'd love to respond in depth to LC but there simply isn't time. Besides, it's exhausting to keep 'training' these 'new' consultants of the realities of MK and every other MLM.

It's like we are parents of children who never grow up. Or maybe we are foster parents so we have to keep starting over. Ugh!

get over yourselves…if you sent half as much time working your business, you wouldnt be wasting your time on this sad excuse for a website.

Oh my Candi, you haven't read enough on this website to understand the purpose at all! Come into the forum and read the stories, about how many women joined Mary Kay and did everything they were told to do and listened to all the canned scripts and false statements of success.

These women believed MK was based on Christian values and yet they were encouraged to spend ALL of their time and money in pursuit of the MK dream. What they got was less time with family, a big load of debt and shelves or even a room full of product that couldn't be sold.

This site isn't about us as much as it is about saving others from the deception, debt and in many cases failed marriages because MK encourages women not to be honest with their spouses about the debt and the amount of time invested.

Inside the forum you find very smart women, executives in their own careers, business owners, warm, witty and very caring. Our site is about lot more than MK, but our bad experiences in MK brought us all together.

We talk about our jobs, families, health, hobbies, current events and yes when somebody comes and wants to tell their story we are there to listen, support them and help them back to the life and self confidence they once had.

So, please, Candi, don't knock what you don't know anything about! It's not a very "go give" way to act.

Step inside the forum and read, you may be surprised at what you find...and it won't cost you a dime! No $100 join up fee, no inventory to buy, just a lot of love and support! And you won't need to park your values at the door.

If you decide MK is still what you want, then there is a part of the forum for those still active in MK, but they have all the information they need to avoid some of the pitfalls that will take money from your family and put it MK Corp's big fat piggy bank.

Come on, you owe it to yourself and your family to come and take a look...or are you afraid of what you might find?

Um...for the people who didn't think people would like receiving MK products for the holidays. No wonder your businesses failed. Your problem is that you dont believe in yourself or your product. How are other people suppose to.

Getting MK for gifts is fabulous!!!!! I LOVE it...at least its something they can use and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg and looks quite nice.

Nice thorough response RTP.

And not to be mean...but I wonder what Lovely Consultant was searching for when she "stumbled" upon this site? Perhaps "Mary Kay selling ideas"? ;)

RTP you said it all in a very polite and accurate manner.
Lovely Consultant, you would do well to listen to what she says. She speaks honestly about the experiences of many of the women on this site.

We all worked our business, attended weekly meetings and followed the instructions of our SD's. We worked hard to make a successful business out of MK, unfortunately the expenses and amount of time involved in doing all these things make a regular full time or part time job more profitable when you consider divinding your profit by the number of hours worked,

I invite you inside our forum to read more. If nothing else it will open your eyes to how the company really works and how much information doesn't filter down to the consultant. It will "remove the scales from your eyes".

And by the way RTP is a very honest Christian woman. she speaks truthfully and from the heart.

Lovely Consultant,
Welcome! I'd like you to stick around and read the stories of women here, some of whom were Directors for years and made a decision to leave (not given the boot). There is info here that your upline will not share with you. Some you will never hear from MK and some you will only find out after you reach higher levels. I'd like to address a few things you said:

"normally those that fail"

Seeing the light, finding out the TRUTH about a company that puts on a Christian facade but operates in very unethical, manipulative ways and CHOOSING not to take part in that any longer does not equal failure.

" are the ones that didnt attend meetings regularly."

I attended meetings regularly, I had $1,000 weeks and even a few classes of that amount. I was doing the 3+3+3, and frankly the entire process took far more time than I had been shown during the recruiting pitch I was given. You don't make $500 per week on a $1000 class first because of all the expenses incurred, seconde because of all the discounts and freebies I was instructed to give away in order to "sell" (esp. on those rollup bags), and third because my sales director lied. You know when they call people up to the front of the meeting and say "Yay, clap for consultant XXX beacause she made $500 in just 2 hours this week! Yaaaaay!" but they're not counting setup, cleanup, packing, unpacking, driving time, ordering, labeling, and on and on. It's deceptive and that's only one example. It was turning into a fulltime job, and that's not what I signed up for.

" Also, a lack of productivity will cause stress."

Mmmm, not unless you've been conned into buying hundreds or thousands of dollars of "investment" inventory that's sitting on your shelves. In that case unproductivity would be stressful.

"When a consultant is not doing the work necessary, then it does cause stress. Sometimes we do just enough work to be stressed but not enough to be productive or make money."

They don't bother to tell you that it equals the time of a full time plus another part time job, and that you'll still hit dead ends. You do not know us, why would you, in defense of a "Christian" company, make unfounded accusations about people you've never even met? Is this what they tell you to say to "negative Nellies" in those meetings? Is this what they tell you to think about anyone you come across in our position?

I bet you've been told, and heard others being told that you have 1 year after you sign up to send your products back if you decide MK's not for you under the 90% repurchase option. This lie benefits the Sales Directors and NSD and hurts their downlines. You can pack up that inventory (not just the starter kit!) and send it back any old time, even if you been in MK for decades. You can only send back products equal in retail value to the retail amount you've purchased in the last 1 calander year. Funny how they leave things out and it works really well for them, huh?

Again, I welcome you and sincerely hope you will stick around and read the many posts, new and old, on the discussion forum boards. There is a section for active MK consultants in there.
Cheers!

I stumbled across this site, and I have been with MK for 4 years. I love my business, and I am by no means a salesperson, but I do sell quite a bit. In my opinion, and this Christian company's defense, normally those that fail are the ones that didnt attend meetings regularly. Also, a lack of productivity will cause stress. I have and will continue to give MK as gifts! My family and friends love them (and constantly reorder)!
