Another Consultant Recruited at Wal-Mart

By L J October 8, 2008 4 Comments

Your Name: SassyLady83

Date Joined MK : 11/01/2007

When Left MK or Still Active?:
Still Active

Initial Inventory Purchased: 600

How were you recruited?:
I was in Wal-Mart shopping.

Memorable experience you had in MK:

When I realized it was a scam.

What did you learn from MK?:
To research any business before signing up. Also that purchasing inventory isn’t mandatory. Not to trust anyone that doesn’t let you know up front about the total costs of anything.

What are you doing now? :
A Consultant for JP Morgan Chase. A Healthcare Consulting Business Owner. In Graduate School.

Additional Comments:
I am thankful for life’s lessons. I thank God that I didn’t get into any debt and that I had the good sense to let go. I don’t feel any business is legitimate if you have to buy yourself up to the top. I love my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

    Ladies,
When I say active, I mean that it hasn’t been a full year since I have purchased inventory.  I don’t sell Mary Kay anymore or buy it.  I use Clinique, lol.  My mom loves it, so I gave it all to her.  If she needs anymore I will buy it from someone on here for her.  Other than that….I don’t want anything to do with it.

SassyLady83, I’d say you were correct…Your brain is “active” therefore you saw quickly through the spin MK puts on the “opportunity”.

Good for you!  I’m glad you didn’t get taken, you sound like a very smart lady!

I just want to say thank you for all the ladies that posted their experiences. I have been in 2 direct selling companies, and was thinking about doing MK. But after praying about it, and getting on this site, I am not going to do it. I do love the products, but I can buy them whenever I want or need them; I do not need to be a consultant to do that. I realized that this just would not be for me, and it is an answer to prayer that I finally realized this. The consultant I bought from was very nice and not pushy, but I let consultants know upfront that I am not interested in being a consultant right now (and now I will not be one at all.) Thank you again for this website; for all the positive and negative stories about MK!
