Ginny
Don’t feel like a fool, how were you to know that they were going to screw us? I got a letter back from BBB saying that the company never responded, and I’m assuming that you will be getting the same letter since we both filed on 9/30/09. So it looks like the Attorney General in FL is the next step. Let me know if I can help with anything, how much it will cost us, and I defiantly want to jump on the same case that you are on since we are both in the same boat. Since YWPC screwed us, I am going to file so that they will be paying me back the FULL retail cost of the products since I’m no longer a consultant and would need to pay full price for the products I sent them. So what was only $1836.00 that they owed will now be $7344.00 plus lawyer expenses and if I need to fly down for the case, all my travel expenses too. Keep me posted on any progess and how we can coordinate the case in FL. Keep your chin up hun, we will get what is due to us and so will YWPC. I don’t lay down easily when people try to screw me over and I can tell you are the same way!

I live in Virginia. I filed with the BBB on September 30th, so I have to wait another week before seeing if they had any luck! My guess is NO! I'm going to contact the Attorney General in FL next. Obviously, this company is going out of business...my thing is, they certainly had to be aware of that prior to accepting our liquidation orders..so why accept them!!! Why not say we are going out of business and are currently not accepting anymore items!! Why screw innocent people in troubled times!! I just can't believe the lack of morals and level of greed in individuals today! It makes me so angry and leaves me feeling like a fool!!

Ginny
i am so sorry for your struggle. If i could help in any way i would, but as you know my hands are tied as well. I am hoping to hear something soon from BBB. If not, let me know. Im not sure what state you reside in, but im in NC. If you live in FL and are going to talk to an attorney, advise him that im looking for assistance as well and maybe he will cut us a break on the cost to use his services since there are 2 cases to submit. As soon as i hear anything i will let you know. Keep the chin up girl, everything for a reason we just might not understand why!

BBB Accreditation Standards

<!--

-->

BBB Code of Business Practices
The BBB Code of Business Practices represents sound advertising, selling and customer service practices that enhance customer trust and confidence in business. The Code is built on the BBB Standards for Trust, eight principles that summarize important elements of creating and maintaining trust in business.
This Code also represents standards for business accreditation by the BBB. Businesses based in the United States and Canada that meet these standards and complete application procedures will be accredited by the BBB.
<strong>To be accredited by BBB a business or organization affirms that it meets and will abide by the following standards:</strong>

<strong>Build Trust</strong>
Establish and maintain a positive track record in the marketplace.

<strong>An accredited business or organization agrees to:</strong>
Have been operational (actively selling products or services) in any BBB service area for at least the most recent 12 months, unless the principal(s) previously operated a similar business with an eligible record (one that qualifies for BBB accreditation).
Fulfill all licensing and bonding requirements of applicable jurisdictions; provide all license and bonding information upon application for BBB accreditation; and provide periodic updates upon request of the BBB.
Be free from government action that demonstrates a significant failure to support the BBB ethical principles in marketplace transactions (this requires a determination by the BBB as to the nature of any violation, whether it was caused or condoned by management, and actions taken to resolve underlying issues that led to the government action).
Be free from an unsatisfactory rating and maintain the minimum grade requirement at the accrediting BBB and the BBB where it is headquartered, if different.
In its relationship with the BBB:

meet all applicable standards within this Code of Business Practices
cooperate with the BBB’s activities and efforts to promote voluntary self-regulation within the business’ industry
honor any settlements, agreements or decisions reached as an outcome of a BBB dispute resolution process
complete the required application and pay all monetary obligations to the BBB in a timely manner

<strong>Advertise Honestly</strong>
Adhere to established standards of advertising and selling.

An accredited business or organization agrees to:
Follow federal, state/provincial and local advertising laws.
Abide by the BBB Code of Advertising, available online at: <a href="http://www.bbb.org/membership/codeofad.asp" rel="nofollow">http://www.bbb.org/membership/codeofad.asp</a>. Supply, upon request, substantiation for advertising and selling claims. Correct advertising and selling practices, when recommended by the BBB.
Adhere to applicable BBB industry codes of advertising.
Cooperate with the BBB self-regulatory programs for the resolution of advertising disputes.
Use the BBB name and logos in accordance with BBB policy.
Avoid misleading customers by creating the false impression of sponsorship, endorsement, popularity, trustworthiness, product quality or business size through the misuse of logos, trustmarks, pictures, testimonials, or other means.

<strong>Tell the Truth</strong>
Honestly represent products and services, including clear and adequate disclosures of all material terms.

An accredited business or organization agrees to:
Make known all material facts in both written and verbal representations, remembering that misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements but by omitting or obscuring relevant facts.
Ensure that any written materials are readily available, clear, accurate and complete.

<strong>Be Transparent</strong>
Openly identify the nature, location, and ownership of the business, and clearly disclose all policies, guarantees and procedures that bear on a customer’s decision to buy.

An accredited business or organization agrees to:
Upon request, provide the BBB with all information required to evaluate compliance with the BBB standards. This may include, but is not limited to business name, address and contact information; names and background of principals; business and banking references; licensing and/or professional accreditation; and a complete description of the nature of the business.
Clearly disclose to customers:

direct and effective means to contact the business
terms of any written contract
any guarantees or warranties accompanying a product
any restrictions or limitations imposed (e.g. limited supply, maximum number available per customer)
the business’ return/refund policy
any recurring commitment into which the customer may be entering, including information on how future billing will occur
total cost of the transaction, including tax, shipping and handling, and other related charges

If selling products or providing services on Web sites or via other electronic means:

provide any required product labeling information
disclose the nature and terms of shipping, including any known delays or shortages of stock
provide an opportunity to review and confirm the transaction before the sale is completed
provide a receipt summarizing the transaction after the purchase

<strong>Honor Promises</strong>
Abide by all written agreements and verbal representations.

An accredited business or organization agrees to:
Fulfill contracts signed and agreements reached.
Honor representations by correcting mistakes as quickly as possible.

<strong>Be Responsive</strong>
Address marketplace disputes quickly, professionally, and in good faith.

An accredited business or organization agrees to:
Promptly respond to all complaints forwarded by the BBB by:

Resolving the complaint directly with the complainant and notifying BBB, or
Providing the BBB with a response that the BBB determines:

is professional,
addresses all of the issues raised by the complainant,
includes appropriate evidence and documents supporting the business’ position, and
explains why any relief sought by the complainant cannot or should not be granted.

Make a good faith effort to resolve disputes, which includes mediation if requested by the BBB. Other dispute resolution options, including arbitration, may be recommended by the BBB when other efforts to resolve a dispute have failed. The BBB may consider a business’ willingness to participate in recommended dispute resolution options in determining compliance with these standards.
Comply with any settlements, agreements or decisions reached as an outcome of a BBB dispute resolution process.
Cooperate with BBB in efforts to eliminate the underlying cause of patterns of customer complaints that are identified by the BBB.

<strong>Safeguard Privacy</strong>
Protect any data collected against mishandling and fraud, collect personal information only as needed, and respect the preferences of customers regarding the use of their information.

An accredited business or organization agrees to:
Respect Privacy

Businesses conducting e-commerce agree to disclose on their Web site the following:
what information they collect,
with whom it is shared,
how it can be corrected,
how it is secured,
how policy changes will be communicated, and;
how to address concerns over misuse of personal data.

Secure Sensitive Data
Businesses that collect sensitive data online (credit card, bank account numbers, Social Security number, salary or other personal financial information, medical history or records, etc.) will ensure that it is transmitted via secure means.
Businesses will make best efforts to comply with industry standards for the protection and proper disposal of all sensitive data, both online and offline.
Honor Customer Preferences
Businesses agree to respect customer preferences regarding contact by telephone, fax and e-mail, and agree to remedy the underlying cause of any failure to do so.

<strong>Embody Integrity</strong>
Approach all business dealings, marketplace transactions and commitments with integrity.

An accredited business or organization agrees to:
Avoid involvement, by the business or its principals, in activities that in the opinion of the BBB reflect unfavorably on, or otherwise adversely affect the public image of the BBB or its accredited businesses.

Ginny, i will definatly keep you posted. BBB has i think 30 days to contact the company and try to work things out. Keep thinking positive thoughts. I am hoping that this person will come to their senses and just pay what is owed to everyone. If I end up needing to contact a lawyer on this i will definatly keep you in the loop so you can join the fight too if need be. I hope the BBB can do something about this. I know times are tough for everyone, and im in the same boat with work and looking at partime work. I will keep you in thoughts and prayers! Im sorry to hear your father is not doing well either. Like Colleen said, GOD is looking out for everyone! Keep fighting the good fight girl!

I have to go to the doctor tomorrow with my mom as well and she has a weak heart too she is 75. I dont blame you family comes first and you did the right thing by getting a job no matter what it is. I wish you all the best I know this is not an easy time for you right now. It is hard on a lot of people republican or democrat, black or white I know God is looking out for everyone. We just have to believe and hold on the best we can. Forget the BBB they are approved by companies who pay to be a part of their database BUT they do put the ratings down and log every complain they get so they are not a scam certification by any means. I will email you on the weekend. I will be thinking about you.

Jess,
As soon as I posted here I went directly to the BBB and filed a complaint! I have heard nothing from them or the company as of yet! The $$ issue has not resolved, in fact it's gotten worse! My truck has had both right and left side wheel bearings and hubs go bad in back to back weeks! $500 in repairs, I had to take from bill money, so now I'm $500 plus in the hole as far as bills go (between truck and mom's medical expenses). Plus, my dad is not doing well! His heart is barely hanging on! I'm stretched too thin as it is with the schedule I'm keeping these days, but I'm about to have to take a fast food job in the evenings I don't work or have school just so we can afford to pay bills! Not to mention what we are going to have to pay for mom's chemo treatments!!!!!! This is NOT something I need to be dealing with right now! Or ever! This is a crime!!!! Please keep me posted on your progress with this company, if you don't mind! My email is <a href="mailto:ginnybean21@gmail.com" rel="nofollow">ginnybean21@gmail.com</a>!
