Wow the price difference between the New body care sets, body wash, body butter and mist for $26.00 vs the current Red Tea & Fig (yuck) and Bamboo & Lotus body care sets with body scrub, body lotion and spritzer for $50.00! That’s not right!
As far as the Limited Edition Fragrances…who wants to smell like fresh cotton? I can see wanting your sheets and maybe your fabric softener to smell like that…but me? A little bit of nothing if you ask me…no imagination at all. Give me a break! Bet that Simply Cotton won’t be flying off the shelves!
Honeysuckle, Amber and Exotic Passionfruit? Nothing new there! $25.00…bet that will be gathering dust too!
Glad I’m not trying to sell these and get people to my Open House this year!
Let’s hear it for spending time making cookies, trimming the tree, wrapping family gifts and having family and friends over. I have lots of time for family this year and time to savor the “reason for the season”.
Oh just what I wanted…..makeup to clog up my pores…..joy joy. lol
I hear ya Lippie
This is MK’s idea of “on-trend” and check out the price difference!

the new limited edition spa sets are travel size and i would pay $26 for them. sampled them at seminar and they both smell wonderful. the limited fragrances smell good, too. i especially liked the cotton and the passionfruit. i’m not into musks which is where the amber goes, and i don’t remember, one way or the other, about the honeysuckle. i do love a nice honeysuckle fragrance and just purchased a same-size bottle as mary kay at sears for clearance price of $12.99. i think, originally, it had been $24.99. i brought my full-size cotton and amber fragrances back from seminar (those were part of the “freebies”) and sold the cotton for $20. i offered anyone who wanted to pre-buy/pay for either fragrances a $20 deal, instead of the $26 that they are retailing for. sold 2 add’l cotton and the one amber that i had. i only made $15 profit off all 3, but that little bit paid my shipping on my order and got me a mascara that i needed. i am looking forward to c-mas and deco’ing with new things (even things that were boxed up smelled of the fire!) and having an openhouse. i’ll have my first one mid-oct., then one first week in nov., then a “last-minute” holiday nog and shop a week before c-mas. i’m just sharing as you ladies have said there are gals on this site? thread? blog? (i don’t know, sorry) that are still in mary kay. just giving ideas. thanks
oops – should read before “submitting” – limited fragrances are $25, not $26.
lisa, would you have been able to sell them without discounting them? I think the price of $25 for a mist is pretty expensive.
The only other point I was making is that this is nothing new or different from what is out there in the stores for less. I didn’t say they didn’t smell nice, just nothing different and for my taste smelling like fresh (clean) cotton is not something I would pay for. If you are wearing clean clothes and use a fabric softener you’re
going to achieve that as a bonus!
It’s hard to make a sale, much less a profit when somebody else has the same thing for less and people can buy when they want without being asked to have a facial or hostess a skin care class. JMO
Just nothing new that “I can get excited about”.
I believe the new EDT fragrances are regular line and not limited edition…whoppee! (Sarcasim) ;0)
i don’t know if anyone would have bought for $25 – i told them that was the retail, but i was offering a special. my purpose in that was trying to get some of the ladies at work to wear a lighter fragrance – some of them, bless their hearts, come in with waaaaaay too much alcoholly smelling colognes, that make the rest of us want to gag. one gal wears windsong, and wears so much of it at one time, it literally tears me up. i usually wear the bella, and have sold about 8 bottles of that over the last year to just gals at work.
Bella Belara is my favorite MK fragrance…I really like the new Warm Amber as well. Affection is a little strong for my taste…MK has some nice fragrances…Velocity for Her is a great Spring/Summer scent.
$26.00 for travel size is excessive, I’d rather use the complimentary “travel sizes” in the hotel room, thank you! What’s next? MK charging $25.00 for GWP?
what’s gwp?
“GWP” stands for “Gift With Purchase”
lol…i just remembered something while reading these comments…I have a freakin anglefire gift set in my closet that has never been open or used…lol
Well… to start off, the $26 set is NOT travel size… they are NOT small! And the Warm Amber smells good, I already sold that one and the Cotton one. But haven’t sold any of the other 2 scents yet.
And these are priced the same or a little less than other places.
Just because you don’t know how to sell or don’t have good customers, don’t knock the #1 selling product…. numbers don’t lie.
And by the way, Kashu, I can only imagine what you are looking like over there without makeup if it “clogs up pores” hello…. how about you wash your face?????
Sabrina, that was just plain mean and nasty in making that comment to E_K. You know nothing about her and have made some rude assumptions about her skin care routine.
Some makeup does clog the pores, irregardless of how much you wash your face!

In this case they do, because MK’s sales figures come from the inveneory purchased by their sales force…it has noting to do with how much has actually been sold and how much is sitting on a shelf gathering dust. MK does not use true sales to customer figures to determine their standing as #1 in sales.
They have no way of tracking actual customer sales, therefore the info used is not an accurate reflection of the popularity and use of products.
It sounds like you area new IBC and have been taking in everything your recruiter and SD are telling you about the company and its products.
I invite you to browse not only the informatin and articles/comments here on the main page, but also to click on the FORUM button above and read more about real expereiences in MK.
Don’t delay in getting all the FACTS, because it could save you a lot of debt and heartache.

That should have read: inventory and nothing, sorry I quickly proofed my post and missed these typos.

Shame on you Sabrina! Your comments are rude and completely unnecessary! We DO NOT attack people here! We can respectfully discuss and share opinions. Comments such as yours stated above will NOT be tolerated!
Well, I do know that the cotton perfume u all are talking about doesn’t really smell like your actual sheets and so fourth. It smells awesome. I rather have the cotten because it doesn’t have a strong smell and it lasts a long time. it has been a big seller. As far as clogging pores… well any make up can clog pores.. I know all you really need to do for that is wash face regularly after wearing make up and what not.
