Active Consultant Sara Says “Let Go of the Bitterness”
Written by L J on June 26, 2008 – 3:47 pm -Your Name: Sara
Date Joined MK : October 2007
When Left MK or Still Active?: Still Active
Initial Inventory Purchased: $1800
How were you recruited?:
I was looking for someone who sold Mary Kay for years, and then I ran into someone on the train. She invited me to come to a Beauty Center, and I did. I loved the facial, loved the idea, and signed up.
Memorable experience you had in MK:
When I heard my Senior Director’s story about how much Mary Kay has changed her from being a tomboy to a soon-to-be-National Director. I could really relate to her experiences in childhood.
What did you learn from MK?:
I’ve learned how to have faith; I’ve learned how to believe in myself and how to motivate others.
What are you doing now? :
I’m working Mary Kay parttime; and I’m in a fantastic group. I see my Director, National Director, Senior Director and recruiter on a regular basis, I’ve made fantastic friends, and I’ve helped others.
Additional Comments:
I have been very fortunate to find this opportunity when I really needed it; and to be in a unit that is extremely productive and dynamic. People can have bad experiences in any company; I work with some horrible people in my day job, and I work with some great people in my day job; I’ve met some great people through Mary Kay, and fortunately I have not had the misfortune to be treated badly or meet any mean people in Mary Kay. I know there are some poor Directors in Mary Kay, but there are selfish, mean people in every company. I’m sorry for people that had a bad experience, but that doesn’t make the whole company and all the people in it bad. I’ve made a committment to make this work despite anything or anyone, but I’ve been blessed to be in a fantastic unit with some fantastic people and it’s made my life richer and fuller. For those of you who had rotten experiences, I’m sorry, but let go of the bitterness, learn from it, and move on. Life is what you make it.

Well, good luck! Check in and let us know how it’s going in a few years, lol. I wonder if some consultants actually read anything here before sending these comments or if they are confusing Pink Lighthouse with other sites that are somewhat vehemently anti-consultant. You know, because both sites start with the same word and all, they’d be easy to confuse for someone who doesn’t read any “About Us” information.
PS, everyone in MK is nice to you as long as you’re ordering! They make money off your orders!

“let go of the bitterness, learn from it, and move on.”
Whoa! Not very positive, Christian like or Go Give!

Exactly, Tam (that makes me ponder their “golden rule” too…). You know what? That is what Pink Lighthouse is here to aid with: letting go of the bitterness of time and money lost to fake decietful pink dreams; learn never ever to be duped again; and move on. Move on we have! We have a grand ‘ol time and there are many topics discussed by members of PLH on our discussion board. We are not miserable fools who grieve and gripe against MK with every breath as so many posting active MKer’s seem to think.

She *might* be a little lost in the pink fog.

How very go-give of you. Thanks for the kind and very heartfelt comments. **end sarcasm

“let go of the bitterness, learn from it, and move on” seems positive to me. i guess, after reading several postings from the same ladies on different mary kay topics, if one says “my, it’s dark and gloomy and raining outside” that’s being negative, unchristian-like and not go-give. a mary kay person should, instead, say “my, the clouds have shadowed the sun, therefore, the day is half as bright and the falling precipitation is delaying my completion of things to do today.”

Lisa,
We have to agree to disagree. “let go of the bitterness, learn from it and move on” in the additional comments section does not seem positive to me. If it was posted in a philosophy section, maybe. As unsolicited advice, it reads a little catty feline to me.

Some people will stand in blind loyalty to MK while living in a world of denial. That is all.
