Mary Kay Opinion – Carol
I love the poll question about whether or not I knew about the inventory expenditure I would be “expected” to make.
That would be a big, whopping NO. I signed my agreement, la de da, was anxiously awaiting my kit and I got a call from a woman I had never met (the Director), who was way across the country asking all kinds of personal questions about my finances. What? She asked me if I could fund a $1800.00 order and I said yes, but I didn’t want to spend that much or go into debt to start this business. I got the line about it not being debt, but being an investment. Yeah, right.
Then, a couple of days later my recruiter called to ask me if I had placed an order because it showed that I had on her intouch site. I looked and the Director had put in a $1800.00 order for me. I went ballistic!!! My recruiter talked me down and said she was always having to do damage control for the Director. I gave the Director a piece of my mind and canceled the order. Then I waited a while and placed a $400.00 retail order. LOL I had actually forgotten about that little tidbit until I read the poll. Live and learn and then leave (MK).

Carol, unless you gave your Director your credit card information, there’s no way she could have placed an order unknowingly for you and charged you for it.

Without all the details, it’s difficult to know what happened here.
If Carol charged her starter kit to her card then it is possible they could have used that.
I can’t tell from Carol’s post if she had given the Director her card info over the phone when she was talking with her.
We need more info.

she would have bought her starter kit through her recruiter though not her director, so she wouldn’t ha ve had that information… unless her director was her recruiter, but that’s a different story
