How were you recruited?
Threw a friends facial class thought I could be good at it because I was a cosmetology educator.
What about Mary Kay appealed to you most?
I like the products, I am a stay at home mom and thought it would be fun to bring in some extra cash and have the freedom to work when I wanted.
Tell us about one of your most memorable or embarassing situations while in Mary Kay
The training calls they do, my director told me the calls help me to learn how to answer questions for recruiting. My director kept calling my friends for two months after the training call. They felt so harassed by her, I felt so bad and could not apologize enough.
What did you learn from your Mary Kay experience?
It’s all bull, all the directors want from you is your commission, they don’t care that you have another life other then MK. I was dumb to think this was my own business and I was my own boss, but now I know I only worked for my pushy director.
What are you doing now? Working full or part time? Working from home? etc. I am selling my stuff back this week and am just going to enjoy my time with my kids and hopefully go back to school for a real job.

MK is not for everyone, can you make it a success maybe for me I was just depressed and frustrated with the whole thing, My director told me I am going to need MK one day and they won’t take me back. All I have to say to that is good bye, good ridden.

Some ladies in leadership in MK need to realize that it’s not all about them. The opportunity is supposed to be about building a team and showing other women a great opportunity. They will take you back. Just call the 800 number and ask about the second chance offer and then try to find a REAL Director or someone who is trying to get too the top. Some directors don’t really care because they are content where they are at; not realizing the sky is the limit!
