Kristen’s Story

Name: Kristin

Date Joined MK: June 2003

Highest level attained: DIQ

Date left company: About a week ago!!! woohoo, go ME!

Initial Inventory purchased:  $1800 and then one month later talked into another 1800 because the first just wasn’t enough! haha, vomit.

How were you were recruited?
I was 2 months out of having a baby, went back to my job… bartender at a local place here in oklahoma city… and she walked in, on a blind date, did her thing, came back the next day and I sold my soul.

What about Mary Kay appealed to you the most?
Being able to get out of the bar and be home with my baby. that’s the only thing she talked about. and of course money. it’s hard to beat bartender money at this particular place, so that’s why I went back after Jonathan was born!

Tell us about one of your most memorable or embarassing situations while in Mary Kay
Realizing that no one wanted what I was selling, and they all avoided me so I wouldn’t try to sell it to them… friends and family.

What are you doing now? Working full or part time? Working from home? etc.
I started passion parties about a year ago. I’m still doing that, and every now and again, I go bartend a few shifts!

What did you learn from your Mary Kay experience?
Sales Directors are liars. Mary Kay Cosmetics really aren’t that great. and it’s really hard to get rid of the stuff you ‘needed’ to order… because once again… NO ONE WANTS IT!
